KT, South Korea's dominant fixed-line operator, said Friday that it has agreed with Intel, the world's largest semiconductor maker, to collaborate on expanding its next-generation mobile technology overseas.
Under the agreement, Intel will produce a chipset with built-in Wireless Broadband (WiBro) module starting as early as October, KT said in a release. The chipset will eliminate the need for additional devices to access the advanced wireless Internet from personal computers or mobile devices.
