HelloSoft, Comsys Mobile and dmedia Announce Joint Development of 4G Handset

HelloSoft, Comsys Mobile and dmedia announced the joint development of a low cost integrated WiMAX/GSM/WiFi phone at 2010 CTIA Wireless. The handset features the combination of HelloSoft’s award-winning VoIP and convergence client suite running on its low cost ultra low power HS100 IP Convergence Processor combined with Comsys Mobile’s award-winning ComMAX CM1125, the industry’s only multimode WiMAX/GSM-EDGE communication processor. The handset is slated for release later this year.

Motorola Doubles Shipments of WiMAX CPE and Dongles Again in Just Five Months

The Networks business of Motorola today announced it has shipped more than two million WiMAX devices, including customer premises equipment (CPE) and dongles. This milestone occurred in February 2010 - just five months after Motorola shipped its one millionth device in September 2009.

Greenpacket has 75% of Taiwan's WiMAX Marketshare

Greenpacket inked a deal with Taiwan's WiMAX Operator, Global Mobile to provide its Intouch Connection Management solution. This deal signifies the third partnership between Greenpacket and WiMAX Operators in Taiwan - gaining the Company 75% of Taiwan's WiMAX marketshare.

According to Senior General Manager of Greenpacket, Kelvin Lee, being strong in Taiwan helps fortifies the Company's leading position in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market. Taiwan is a major WiMAX hub in the APAC with vigorous WiMAX deployments, and with two of the world's six WiMAX Forum certification labs are situated.

India to Auction Airwaves for Mobile Phones, WiMAX in April

India will auction licenses for nationwide mobile phone services and next-generation mobile wireless services in April, South Korean officials said Thursday, as Korean companies are gearing up to tap Asia's third-largest economy.

According to South Korea's telecommunications regulator, the Indian government has recently announced that it will hold the auction for third-generation mobile phone services April 9.
